| Sentence | After determining that lactam 1 caused damage to DNA, we also found that p38 MAP kinase was an essential mediator of apoptosis in response to DNA damage induced by lactam 1 (Fig. 8 ). p38 was activated after just 2 h of lactam 1 treatment (Fig. 8 A), which also correlates kinetically with the time that DNA strand breaks are first introduced (Fig. 7 C). |
